NU FFA captures two state titles

The North Union FFA competed in the state Agronomy (CDE) on March 21 at the Ohio State Fairgrounds.
Members competing in the Agronomy CDE identify various soils, crop plants, insects and plant diseases. Students take a written test where they are tested on these elements and asked mathematical questions. A team activity is also conducted, where students have to select proper seed, fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide and insecticide for an imaginary field.
High school FFA members competing included Kellyn Ufferman, Cain Holloway, Dominic Hainline, Colton Smith and Ava Swihart. The team placed first in the state competition, earning them North Union FFA’s 29t…
