Lady Cats score run-rule verdict over Chieftains; earn outright title in CBC’s Mad River Division

Before the North Union softball team took to its home field on Saturday for a Central Buckeye Conference game against Bellefontaine, it knew one thing for certain.
As a result of Shawnee’s 14-0 loss to Urbana on Friday, the Lady Cats knew it could be no worse than earn a share of the CBC’s Mad River Division title.
North Union held a one half game lead over Shawnee and a win over the Chieftains would make it outright champs.
The Lady Cats were not about to finish with a share of the title.
North Union pitcher Leah Cox opened with three strikeouts in the first inning and things only got better after that.
