Delaware engineer shares ideas with commissioners

Shift in sales tax could ease county paving woes

One thing learned in the recent discussion between Union County and Delaware County officials was that a change in the approach to sales tax revenue may have to be part of the discussion to address funding challenges for the engineer’s office.

Delaware County Engineer Chris Bauserman joined Union County Engineer Jeff Stauch and the county commissioners last week to discuss how his office has dealt with similar issues of growth and development.

One topic of discussion was revenue Bauserman’s office receives from Delaware’s sale tax, a larger piece of the pie comparatively to Union County.
