Lady Cats softball split series with Shawnee
North Union and Shawnee split a home-and-home series last week in Central Buckeye Conference softball play. The split kept the two teams tied for first place in the CBC’s Mad River Division with 10-2 records.
In the first game of the week on the North Union diamond, the Lady Cats posted a 3-0 victory. North Union was coming off a 24-5 loss to undefeated Kenton Ridge.
‘We knew we needed to be ready to go,” NU senior outfielder Kale Keigley said of the bounce back from the loss to Kenton Ridge. “But we were relaxed and not super uptight.”
“We did not have a lot of hits but we were able to figure out ways to cross the plate,” Draper said.
