NU track team competes at middle school invitational

North Union hosted 10 track teams, including Jonathan Alder and Fairbanks, on Thursday for the North Union Middle School Invitational.
North Union finished fourth in the girls meet with 81 points.
The Lady Cats’ Finley Ufferman won three events, taking first in the 100 (13.41 seconds), 400 (1:02.98) and 200 (28.14). Layney Wilds finished second in the 800 (1:04.84) and third in the 400 (1:04.84) while Audrey Hartings was second in the shot put with a toss of 30 feet, four inches.
North Union was fifth in the boys meet, scoring 67.75 points.
The Wildcats’ Luke Mask earned a pair of wins in the field events, taking the shot put (51 feet, six inches) and discus (158-10).
The Wildcats’ Joseph Wiley won the 800 with a time of 2:15.43. Jackson Pederson was second in the pole vault at 7-6 and Wiley was second in the 1600 (4:49.59).
