North Union’s Osborne breaks 60-year-old track record during meet at Buckeye Valley

North Union’s Griffin Osborne broke a nearly 60-year-old school record during a recent meet at Buckeye Valley.

The Wildcat senior took first place in the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 3.5 inches, breaking the old record of 22-3 set by Bill Robinson in 1968. Osborne also won the 100 in the time of 11.53 seconds.

As a team North Union finished first with 96 points. Also earning individual victories were Zaim Habib (110 hurdles, 18.25), Broden O’;Reilly (discus, 131-5), Xavier Gruber (high jump, 6-0) and Collin Welch (pole vault (10-0). The Lady Cats finished third in the girls meet with 55 points. Gabby Lindsey was the lone individual champion with a first-place height of 4-10 in the high jump.
