Lady Cats split weekend contests, stay unbeaten in CBC Mad River Division

North Union head softball coach Dawn Draper’s return to the dugout after a five-year absence did not start as well as her and the Lady Cats would have liked. But after losing three of its first four games, North Union went on a fivegame winning streak.

The streak was stopped this past Saturday with a 6-3 loss to River Valley, however, the Lady Cats have been doing a lot of right things.

“I guess the first thing is we started the season playing really good teams and seeing really good pitching,” said Draper. “We got to see those teams and I think it helped our confidence. Also, a little bit of winning is contagious.”
