Skill, elite drones fuel company success

For Dale Mannasmith and Cole Chapman, the path to launching Dark Horizon Drones wasn’t the result of a formal business plan. Instead, it developed organically through conversations and curiosity.

The pair formed the recovery business as a side job but a call by a Marysville family with a missing dog shoved their business into the spotlight. Last month, they helped the Seberts locate Gracie, the family dog that survived several days in the winter storm that blanketed the area in snow late last month.

Nearly a month later, Gracie’s story has garnered media attention and increased calls into the business, so much so that the pair has had to turn some away. …
