Grand opening of T-hangar set for Friday

The Union County Airport will be holding a ribbon cutting and grand opening of its new 15 unit T-hangar building at 10 a.m. on Friday.

According to a press release from the Union County Airport Authority, the T-hangar project has been in development for five years and is the first new construction at the airport since 2009. The $1.9 million project included support and funding from the Federal Aviation Administration and Ohio Department of Transportation – Aviation Division grants as well as an ODOT loan and the airport’s own funds.

The hangar will hold 15 general aviation airplanes and provides an additional $65,000 annually in direct and indirect revenue to the air…
