Three to seek commissioner position

Union County voters now have a better idea of who will appear in the primary election this spring.

The filing deadline for candidates and issues on the May 5 ballot ended Wednesday leaving local voters with a couple of high-profile, contested seats.

Incumbent commissioner Dave Lawrence was not on the Union County Board of Elections’ unofficial list for county commissioner but there are three candidates running for the seat: -Patrick Joseph Reilly -Shaun Merrill Bailey -Letitia A. Rayl Another notable race will be the two candidates running for county auditor. That includes incumbent Andrea Weaver and challenger, Tanalee Stoll.
