NU grapplers take second in Grandview Heights Invite

North Union was just edged out of a team wrestling championship last Saturday at the Grandview Height Invitational.

The Wildcats finished in second place and totaled 167.5 points.

Westland won the title with 172 points.

Collin Welch earned an individual title, leading the field in the 132-pound division.

Welch went 5-0 and won four matches by pin.

Wyatt Stacklin (126), Corey Gilliam (165) and Broden O’Reilly (215) each finished second.

Also placing for the Wildcats were Preston Larson (third, 285), Jack Kemp (fourth, 138), Mason Andrews (fourth, 190), Luke Brown (fifth, 190) and Kingston Alvarado (fifth, 175).

MS Boys Results

North Union finished in sixth place on Saturday at the Triad Middle School Invitational.

The Wildcats finished with 119 points while Piqua finished first with 207.5 points.

Austin Beeney was an individual champion, winning the 245-pound division.

Other placers were Cole Fisher (third, 92), Gavin James (third, 80), Henry Rowe (fourth, 86), Jason McCoy (fifth, 122), Sutton Lowe (sixth, 98) and Westin Dean (sixth, 172).
