Delay in solar payment may spell county windfall

Union County officials said the news last month about the delay in revenue from Acciona’s Union Solar project might not be all negative.

County Administrator Bill Narducci told the board of commissioners recently that the delay might actually result in the county seeing a partial bump in revenue amounts early on that they didn’t exactly count on.

“The silver-lining to this, potentially – and I had a conversation with (Auditor Andrea Weaver) last night, she’s still putting numbers together with her staff – the land use has changed within the footprint of the project,” he said. “So, a large portion of that ground has utility generation infrastr…
