Funding woes plague county roadwork

Nearly a year after sharing his mounting budget concerns, Union County Engineer Jeff Stauch said his office is still searching to find solutions to the increasing costs of projects around the county.

Stauch laid out his concerns to the board of commissioners recently, questioning how his office will be able to pay for those projects. He said there are concerns not only about funding crucial construction projects in the future, but effectively maintaining the paving of county roadways each year.
