School board miffed on SRO negotiations

Members of the North Union Board of Education aired frustrations after reading the sheriff’s comments to the county commissioners about raising the district’s student resource officer (SRO) costs.

At a meeting of the county commissioners on Oct. 8, Union County Sheriff Mike Justice discussed working out a new system for the Fairbanks and North Union school districts as they pay “substantially less” than Marysville and Dublin schools for their contracts with UCSO deputies. A story from the commissioners meeting ran in the Oct. 16 edition of the Richwood Gazette, which board members cited at the regular meeting on Monday when expressing frustrations.
