Richwood man gets life in prison

A Richwood man has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of seven counts of rape against three female children under the ages of 10.

During a recent sentencing hearing in the Union County Court of Common Pleas, Michel Brian Nelson, 65, of 130 E. Blagrove St., Richw ood, entered a plea of guilty to seven counts of felony rape of the first degree against children that were related to him. Judge Don W. Fraser led the proceedings and Union County Prosecutor Dave Phillips represented the state in the prosecution. Nelson waived his right to a jury trial.
