NU spikers take down Graham for first CBC win

Playing its first Central Buckeye Conference match of the season, the North Union made quick work of a visiting Graham squad. The Lady Cats won in three sets, defeating the Falcons 25-12, 25-3, 25-4. North Union is now 3-2 overall while Graham drops to 0-6.

The Lady Cats had a pretty strong match at the service line, collecting 11 aces. Kennedy Harrah and Avery Poling each had three while Katelyn Zimmerman and Emmy Eastman each had two and Kellyn Ufferman had one.

Zimmerman posted seven kills and two solo blocks. Lexi Wills and Glory Blevins each had six kill and Ufferman added five. Harrah dished out 25 assists. The junior varsity won in two sets, 25-9 and 25-14.

NU spikers fall to KR

North Union’s volleyball squad dropped a 3-0 verdict to Kenton Ridge last Saturday. Glory Blevins led the Lady Cats with nine kills, while Katelyn Zimmerman finished with seven. Kennedy Harrah tallied 21 assists to North Union’s hitters. She also led the squad with 20 digs. North Union slipped to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the Mad River Division of the Central Buckeye Conference.

NUMS sweeps KR

North Union Middle School swept past Kenton Ridge in volleyball action. The Lady Cats won the seventh-grade match 25-23, 25-11. Finley Ufferman served 11 aces. In the eighth-grade match, North Union won 25-22, 25-21. Stevi Mabery recorded five kills.
