Memorial plans $56M emergency department expansion

Memorial Health has announced plans to construct a new, $56-million, state- of- the- art emergency department (ED).

The expansion, which will build toward Plum Street from the existing ED location, will increase the number of treatment rooms to 24, from its current capacity of 15.

“This new emergency department is a transformational project aimed at meeting the rapidly growing healthcare needs of the region,” Chip Hubbs, President & CEO for Memorial Health, said in a release. “With population growth and emergency visits continuing to rise, the expansion will increase ED capacity, enhance patient experience, and support the next generation of patient care.
