Richwood man pleads to child rapes

A Richwood man has plead guilty to raping three girls under the ages of 10.

During a pretrial hearing in the Union County Court of Common Pleas on Aug. 15, Michel Brian Ne l s o n , 65, of 130 E. Blagrove St., Richw ood, entered a plea of guilty to seven counts of felony rape of the first degree. The children were reportedly related to Nelson.

Judge Don W. Fraser oversaw the proceedings and Union County Prosecutor Dave Phillips represented the state in the prosecution.

Nelson waived his right to a jury trial and the court has found Nelson guilty of all seven counts of rape.
