Richwood man faces felony charges following shooting incident

Recent shooting incidents in the county have led to felony charges – with one incident involving a man from Richwood who allegedly shot at his son.

The Union County Grand Jury has charged Richard Eldon Baker, 64, of Richwood, with one count of felonious assault of the second degree carrying a three-year firearm specification as well as a weapon forfeiture.

According to court documents, on June 22, 2025, a deputy was dispatched to Baker’s residence, 19393 Route 739 for a domestic dispute complaint. While en-route to the home, dispatch told the deputy that “the father fired a gun in the air and the son had run off,” according to court documents.
