Development plan to be updated

Union County is starting the process of updating its Economic Development Strategy.

Eric Phillips, director of economic development for both the county and City of Marysville, told the county commissioners recently an update to the plan is long overdue.

He added a full update hasn’t been done since 2014.

“We did an update in 2018 based on the (U.S.) 33 Smart Mobility Corridor, but this would be a total revamp of the Economic Development Strategy (and) where we want to go,” Phillips said. “We’re going to have citizen engagement, we’re going to have stakeholder engagement on where we want to take the community (and) what will b…
