Craving home from Iraq

There are many ways that a serviceman might choose to spend the cherished few days on leave from a deployment. One Marysville resident chose to spend it with a White Castle “Crave Case” – and it earned him a spot in the Craver’s Hall of Fame.

Jeff Lyerla, 61, of Marysville, was inducted into White Castle’s Craver’s Hall of Fame at its headquarters on May 15 after his friends convinced him to submit his story to the fast food chain.

“Some of us were sitting around having a beer…one of my friends goes ‘you need to submit that story’ and I said ‘what, why?’” Lyerla recalled, adding that his friend was adamant that he do it. “So I did.”
