Man with local roots named chief of staff for DOE

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced on May 2 that there would be new leadership hirings, which included the assignment of Carl Coe as the new chief of staff of the department – a Marysville native with local ties.

According to a release from the DOE, the department said that the new leadership would help to strengthen and secure the U.S. energy system and ensure that America can lead the global race for AI leadership.

Coe joined the DOE to lead the efforts of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in 2025. In the role, Coe worked closely with U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright as well as 40 offices in the department focused on process improvement and cost …
