Local youth coach sentenced on rape counts

A man has plead guilty to raping a 12-year-old girl while he was her softball coach in Richwood and he is now facing at least 25 years in prison.

Anthony James Davis, 30, of West Mansfield, was found guilty of two counts of felony rape of the first degree, one count of sexual battery and one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in the Union County Court of Common Pleas after Davis plead guilty on all four charges during an open court trial on April 30.

Davis had waived his right to a grand jury trial and entered a pleaand- sent ence bill of information trial, according to presiding judge Steven Beathard.
