North Union girls track team edges WLS to claim team title

North Union edged out West Liberty Salem to win the girls title on Friday at the Triad Invitational.

The Lady Cats totaled 147 points for a five-point edge over the Lady Tigers.

Gabby Lindsey led North Union with a pair of individual first-place finishes.

Lindsey won the 200meter dash in the time of 26.49 seconds and led the long jump field with a leap of 16 feet, six inches.

Stella Hancock posted a victory in the 100 hurdles with a winning time of 16.94.

The Lady Cats also took first place in the 4×200 (Rylan Riffle, Hancock, Glory Blevins, Lindsey) with a time of 52.64.

West Liberty Salem won the boys meet with a final count of 218 points. …
