NU track and field teams claim wins at River Valley tri meet

North Union opened its track season by posting a pair of victories in a triangular meet on Tuesday at River Valley.

The Lady Cats won the girls meet, finishing with 74 points. River Valley was second with 49 points and Centerburg was third with 13 points.

In the boys meet, North Union totaled 59 points while River Valley counted 42 points and Centerburg scored 38 points.

Posting individual wins in the girls meet were Gabby Lindsey (200, 27.81), Savannah Amstutz (400, 1:08.10), Kennedy Ludwig (1600, 5:57.61), Lauren Hall (3200, 13:16.04), Zoni Robinson (300 hurdles, 56.96) and Glory Blevins (high jump, 4-9; long jump, 14-8).

The Lady Cats also won the 4×100 (Rylan Riffle, Stella Hancock, Blevins, Kaylin Colegrove), the 4×200 (Hancock, Riffle, Blevins, Lindsey) and 4×800 (Hall, Amstutz, Ludwig, Morgan Mask).

North Union also won the girls 4×400 with the team of Amstutz, Allison Stacklin, Lexi Golinghorst and Rylee Horne

Winning individual events in the boys meet were Griffin Osborne (100, 11.35; 200, 23.81), Cooper Music (400, 59.59), Ben Bonnell (800, 2:17.63), Max Leavitt (high jump, 5-4) and Wyatt Davis (long jump, 19-9).
