Opera House offer for $101 rejected

Richwood Council voted to reject a $101 offer to purchase the Opera House.

At the regular meeting of the village council on Monday, members entered executive session to discuss a bid to purchase the Opera House at 101 S. Franklin St.

According to the contract documents, Dean Gray made the offer to buy the building for $101.

Council had previously voted to put the Opera House up for sale for a total of five weeks on Multiple Listing Service (MLS) to promote competitive bidding and attract potential buyers.

This was the lone offer the village received during the period of sale.
