Village Council looks to regulate dumpster locations

Council members expressed concern over a Richwood business looking to put a dumpster on the sidewalk and will look to create a law regulating dumpster placement in the village.

At the regular meeting of village council on Monday, Zoning Officer Marion Bump asked council about rules regarding dumpsters for businesses that need them but have no place to put them.

“We have another entity in this town (VFW Post 870) that has need for a dumpster and they don’t have any place to put it except for the sidewalk,” Bump said. “They’ve got three big trash cans out there and they’re always overflowing… they want to put a small dumpster in.”
