Company does not appeal Richwood solar rejection

The Richwood Solar project is officially not moving forward.

Last month, the Ohio Power Siting Board, the body charged with overseeing energy project applications around the state, voted unanimously to deny the project proposed by Samsung. That gave the company 30 days to file an appeal and that deadline was earlier last week and no appeal was filed.

Union County Commissioner Steve Robinson, who voted as an ad hoc member on the board, said he was happy to receive this outcome.

“At least from my mind, I’m pleased that all the work led to a success,” he said. “That was a…tremendous effort.”
