City lines up $1B Amazon facility

Amazon will be making a $1 billion investment in a facility in the Marysville Innovation Park.

Although discussions of a 500,000-square-foot data center in the park have been had at the City of Marysville, a special meeting on Feb. 4 for the Marysville school board attached a name to the facility as discussions of an incentive agreement were held.

Union County Economic Development Director Eric Phillips said Amazon Data Services will invest $250 million in buildings, with another $750 million in servers and equipment.
