Wildcat grapplers finish eighth in Utica Invitational

North Union placed six wrestlers last Saturday at the Utica Invitational.

The Wildcats finished eighth overall with 99 points, Elgin was tournament champion with 248.5 points.

Collin Welch was the top placer, earning a second-place slot in the 126-pound division.

He won his first two championship matches but lost in the final.

Corey Gillium (150), Heath Ferguson (157) and A.J. Leeson (165) each finished third.

Ferguson and Leeson each went 3-1 while Gillium finished with a 3-2 mark.

Jaystin Benney (120) and Ben Bonnell (144) each went to 2-2 and finished fourth.
