NU bowlers compete in Pioneer Baker Bash

The North Union girls bowling team reached the bracket tournament last Saturday of the Pioneer Baker Bash held at Columbus Square Bowling Palace last Saturday.

The majority of the 22 teams that were at the tournament were Division I.

Bowling four sets of four games each the Lady Cats were eighth and qualified for the bracket tournament. The Lady Cats averaged 147 over the 16 baker games. The top eight teams qualified for the finals.

North Union was paired against top-seeded Gahanna Lincoln in the opening bracket match and bowled a 199 in the first game. Unfortunately Gahanna Lincoln posted a 217 game and won second game 164-119 to take best-of-three series.

The boys team finished 18th in preliminary play, averaging 153.
