Middle school cagers claim wins

North Union middle school programs grabbed wins on the court.

NUMS girls

North Union swept past Northwestern in a pair of middle school girls basketball games.

Behind the 16 points and 14 rebounds from Nuna Baker, the Lady Cats won the seventh-grade game 43-17. Miri Taylor added 12 points.

The eighth-grade team won 32-16.

Tinlee Martino and Chloe Martino had 13 and 11 points respectively for North Union.

NUMS boys

The North Union Middle School seventh-grade boys basketball team earned its first win of the season, defeating Northwestern 49-25.

Luke Mask paced the Wildcats with 22 points.

The eighth-grade also posted a victory, downing the Warriors 51-31.

Dom Hainline netted 16 points to lead North Union.
