Body in Alabama believed to be missing local hiker

Authorities in Alabama think they may have found the body of a missing Marysville woman.

Officials from the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Department in Alabama said a body believed to be that of Vendula “Wendy” Rose, a Marysville woman missing since October, was found in a wooded area on Saturday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, a pair of hunters on the grounds found the body and called authorities, which were then dispatched to the area of Highway 281, five miles northeast of the Cheaha State Park.

Following the weekend discovery, the sheriff’s office held a press conference Monday afternoon.
