Vets thankful for NU program

 

On behalf of NU area veterans, I want to share my gratitude to our North Union Elementary School for celebrating Veterans Day! Mrs. Tammy Borders (the program organizer) and K-5 grade students provided a heartfelt 2024 Veterans Day program. One hundred veterans sat in front of the packed gym bleachers!

Larry Nibert, Justin Monroe and Deb Gibson Brady, of the Richwood Area Veterans Honor Guard, presented the Colors and the Hillyard Hikers led the Pledge of Allegiance. The National Anthem, under the direction of Mr. Kain Anderson, was sung beautifully by the fifth grade! After fifth grade student Lily Wiley welcomed all veterans, Mrs. Borders introduced each veteran in the audience. Then, in remembrance of military comrades we’ve lost, veterans …
