Early voting total tops Election Day numbers

Early voting was strong in Union County. Officials said the strong early turnout made for a smooth Election Day. Election officials said this is the first time they can remember early voting topping the day of voting. Above, Board of Elections Deputy Director Michelle Forrider shows board members an early ballot that was rejected by the tabulation machines. If a ballot cannot be read by the machine, for whatever reason, the ballot is remade and resubmitted.
