Autumn weather Brings unwanted house guests

This time of year, we often see uninvited guests crawling in our homes. Multicolored Asian Lady Beetles (MALB) (Harmonia axyridis) and Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs (Halyomorpha halys) have already made their presence known in our area and invasions will continue.

In 1975, the “Lady Bug” was recognized as Ohio’s official state insect. MALBs, often called “ladybugs” are native to Asia as the name would suggest. Some records indicate they came to the U.S. on ships to New Orleans and Seattle. Other reports indicated they were purposely…
