Hangar pitch will go to commissioners

The Union County Airport Authority is preparing to propose its hangar project to the Union County commissioners.

At their regular monthly meeting, Airport Authority President Steve Koenig said they will be presenting the 15-unit T-hangar project at the weekly commissioners meeting on Oct. 16 to get either “a thumbs up or a thumbs down” on the grants.

All Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants require commissioner approval, and the county commissioners are the FAA’s sponsor to the airport, so this is the process the board must take to obtain approval, Koenig explained.
