A piece of history

The B-25 bomber ‘Champaign Gal’, named after it’s home at the Champaign Aviation Museum in Champaign County, Urbana, made an appearance at the Union County Airport’s Oktoberfest fly-in Oct. 5. The iconic bomber plane saw action in every theater of World War II where it was used for a plethora of missions. ‘Champaign Gal’ was used in the U.S. Army Air Force for 13 years as a troop carrier, where there are still signatures from veterans on the interior walls.
