Wildcats take the gridiron for preseason home scrimmage against FHS Panthers

It was not the bright lights of a Friday night but for the North Union and Fairbanks football teams getting to play on a Saturday morning is probably the next best thing.

For the past few weeks teams have squared off against each other during their preseason practice sessions.

But for Fairbanks’ Holtz Maine and North Union’s Gavin Potts, getting to see a different colored jersey was a welcome sight.

“It was a great feeling hitting somebody else,” Maine said.

“It was fun to give it a go and play other competition,” said Potts.
