Thanks to Lynford Schrock for providing minutes from the May and June Unionville Center Village Council meetings.

A special meeting was held on May 14 to discuss pending grants for the village.

Mayor, Larry Burchett, explained that the grant that the village is likely to get will cover a new siren and paving Railroad Street. Our chances of being awarded this grant are increased if we show that we have funds that we are prepared to commit to the project.

He presented a proposed Letter of Commitment that commits the village to paying $69,765 for the milling and repaving of Cross Street when by grant the tornado siren is replaced with a new one and Railroad Street is…
