NU Shooting Club takes fifth in state tournament

The North Union Shooting Club was able to place in the top five during the recent Ohio Trap Shooting state tournament.

The event was held at the Black Wing Shooting Center in Delaware.

The Wildcats finished fifth out of 27 participating schools. The crew produced a score of 451 (92-92-91-88-88).

Taking the top spot was Olentangy Liberty, which recorded a 461 (99-97-92-91-82).

Tuscarawas was the runner-up, one point behind Liberty with a 460 (95-94-93-90-88) score.

Grand Valley was third with a similar score of 460 (94-94-92-90-90).

Nathan Jones and Damien Dexter tied for the best score on the NU team with 92s. Jones recorded a reverse run of 30.

Joshua North was the second-leading shooter with a score of 91. Nathan McCaul and Alex Dexter tied with a score of 88.

Other members of the club competing included Levi Baer (75), Connor Cobb (83), Abby Cobb (48), Ty Coss (80), Weston Drumm (74), Wyatt Drumm (86), Aiden Hamilton (78), Will Jones (80), Lead Matlack (61), Kelsie Price (59), Traven Reber (62), Austin Schindewolf (86), Ryan Staley (81), Jacob Toomey (78) Patrick Wain (77), Hayden Warye (75) and Eathan Ziokowski (88).
