JUNE 6, 1924

June 5: C. T. Porter caught one of the largest small mouth bass ever taken in this section Sunday when he landed a specimen weighting four pounds and twelve ounces. The big fellow was caught in the Scioto River with a minnow as bait. Mr. Porter is having the trophy mounted. Beginning today, Thursday, a month’s protection is given bass and fishermen will have to forego the pleasure of taking these game fish from Ohio streams.

June 5: At a called meeting of council held Tuesday night the bid of A. L. Tennant for cleaning and sprinkling the streets was accepted. Mr. Tennant has done the work satisfactorily for several years. There was one other bidder, C. B. Phelps.
