North Union had six athletes compete in last week’s Division II regional track meet at Lexington High School.
Freshman Gabby Lindsey advanced to this week’s state meet in the long jump at Welcome Stadium at the University of Dayton.
Lindsey finished sixth overall in the long jump at Lexington with a leap of 17 feet but she still was able to make it to the state meet.
The top four in each individual and relay events automatically qualifies for the state meet and best two from all of the regional meets also qualifies.
While not qualifying for the state meet, Lindsey also earned placement points in two other events.
She was sixth in the 200 with a personal best time of 25.71 seconds and seventh in the 400 in the time of 59.9.
Also competing for the Wildcats were Lindsey, Lauren Hall, Savannah Amstutz and Kennedy Ludwig in the girls 4×800 (13th, 10:16.89), Ludwig in the girls 1600 (12th, 5:32.16), Carter Skaggs in the boys 300 hurdles (10th, 41.45) and Wyatt Davis in the boys long jump (12th, 19-7.25).
Lindsey is scheduled to compete in the long jump at 1 p.m. on Friday.
North Union’s Carter Skaggs competes in a shuttle hurdle event during a regular season home meet this spring.
