May 22: H. S. Graduates Get Diplomas – forty-fifth commencement exercises for Richwood high school held at Opera House last Friday evening well attended. Before an audience that took every available seat twenty-nine graduates of the Richwood High school received their diplomas at the forty-fifth commencement exercises.

May 26: Pfc. Jack Bumgarner, who has been stationed at Lockland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, left Monday for Chanute Field, Ill., after spending a twelve-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bumgarner.
