Area mobilizes to assist Logan County after storm

Union County first responders spent much of Thursday night and Friday last week in Logan County, helping ensure their neighbors were safe following a major storm in the area.

“This is probably the worst (storm I’ve seen),” Jerome Township Division of Fire Chief Doug Stewart said, adding that even Hurricane Ike in Delaware County “did not cause the structural damage” Thursday night’s storms did.

Union County Emergency Management Agency Director Brad Gilbert said he spent Thursday night driving roads in the area before heading to Logan County to help.
