BOR sets deadline to contest property values

This year, Union County residents have until April 1 to contest their property values from last year.

While the last date to file is typically March 31, this year that date falls on Easter Sunday, making the new deadline the next available business day or Monday, April 1.

Auditor Andrea Weaver said the county’s Board of Revision had its first hearing of 2024 recently, after the filing opened up for 2023 taxes on Jan. 1.

“One of the benefits, I think, of living in a smaller county is that we actually look at those cases. We don’t have a side board,” she said. “We just don’t have that many.”
