Julia Lee “Judy” Roberts

 

Julia Lee “Judy” Roberts, 101 of Marion, died peacefully early Friday morning, January 27, 2024 at the Kingston Residence of Marion. She was born September 2, 1922 in Hardin County, the second of five children to Everett and Frances (Sieg) Detwiler. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Joseph and Phillip Detwiler, and a sister, Rebecca Tillman.

Judy was a 1940 graduate of Marysville High School. In 1942 she married Russell Roberts, to whom she was a loving and devoted wife for 58 years. Very shortly after their marriage Russell was deployed to Normandy where he served in the Army during WWII. Russell preceded her in death in 2000. Their beloved son, Michael also preceded her in death in 1977 at the age of 25.
