NUMS cagers have mixed results against BL

The North Union Middle School basketball teams played games against Benjamin Logan last week. The girls teams earned a pair of wins, capturing the seventh-grade game 31-17 and the eighth-grade game 40-35. Tinlee Martino scored 10 points to lead the Lady Cat seventh-graders and Leah Cox totaled 15 points for the eighth-grade team. The boys squads split its two games. Ben Newell scored 12 points for the Wildcats in leading the seventh-grade team to a 47-33 win. The eighth-grade team lost 44-23. Gabe Wiertel had 12 points for North Union.

Middle school hoopsters soar past Indian Lake

North Union Middle School swept past Indian Lake in girls basketball play on Monday. The seventh-grade team won 49-11. Tinlee Martino led the way with 14 points and Chloe McElroy added 13 points. In the eighth-grade game, the Lady Cats slipped past the Lakers 29-23. Leah Cox totaled 14 points and Glory Blevins chipped in with 11 points. The boys teams also played Indian Lake. Hayze Miller scored 10 points in leading the seventh-grade team to a 27-18 victory. The eighth-grade team lost 30-20. Brevyn Martino and Dylan Asher each had eight points.
