Sheriff’s Report

 

A Union County Deputy met with a Marion County Deputy to take custody of Jacob A. Smith, 28, of Richwood, for an outstanding arrest warrant at 1:18 a.m. Oct. 20. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.

A deputy took possession of a green Motorola cell phone that was found on Route 47 near Fawley Road at 10:44 a.m. Oct. 20.

Deputies were sent to a property in the 20000 block of Route 31 to investigate a suspicious 2003 Ford Ranger that had been abandoned at 6:53 p.m. Oct. 21. As a result of the investigation, the vehicle was determined to have been stolen from Hardin County. The driver of the vehicle, Zachary R. Ward, 24 of Newark, was found walking along Route 31 and was arrested for receiving stolen property. He…
