The month of November is bringing in the holidays. Just a reminder that for the month of November our offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 10 in honor of Veterans Day and we will be closed as well for Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24.

Our Christmas Bell program is underway. If you know of a senior in the Richwood area that you would like us to bless this season, please call our office with their information and they will get their name on the list. Cut-off day for names is Nov. 10. If they have a pet, give us that information and we can pass it on to Hospets for them. If you would like to buy a gift for a senior, the area churches will have the bells with information on them available the week of Thanksgiving. All gifts need to be returned to the Richwood Civic Center by Dec. 15 and then we plan on delivering all the gifts the week of Christmas. If you have any questions about this program, please call our office.

You can now sign up for a trip to see Butch Bando’s Fantasy of Lights on Dec. 7. The cost is $15, and seats are limited. Payment for the trip is due at sign-up time.

Stress Management During the holidays is a class taught by Megan Taylor from the OSU Extension Office and learn to: Recognize the source of holiday stress, understand the impact of holiday stress, explore ways to manage holiday stress, identify ways to practice self-care. This will be held on Thursday Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. in the community room at the Greene. There is no charge, but we do ask that you call the office to RSVP.

The Richwood Civic Center is a part of the planning committee for the Richwood Area Business Association 2023 Christmas Parade. We are excited to announce this year’s Grand Marshals are Bob and Jeannie Hildreth, who were inducted into the 2023 Senior Hall of Fame earlier this year representing Union County. Together with the community, we can celebrate this year’s theme of Christmas in “R” Town. If you or your group would like to put a float in the parade this year, please stop by the Richwood Civic Center or email susie.centerdirector@gmail.com to get an entry form. All forms need to be returned by Thursday, Nov. 30 to the Richwood Civic Center.
